November 16, 2020 – WASHINGTON, DC – Dixie Weber, MS, BSN, RN, has received the Distinguished Professional Service Award from AWHONN, the Association of Women’s Health Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. The award was presented during AWHONN’s virtual annual convention last week.

The Distinguished Professional Service Award is AWHONN’s highest honor. This award is given to nurses whose accomplishments in the specialties of women’s health, obstetric and neonatal nursing, as well as their contributions to AWHONN are exemplary.

Weber is the Director for the Womens and Childrens Service Line at PeaceHealthHelp in Vancouver, WA.

As the former National Director of Healthcare Programs at the Family to Family Support Network, she educated staff on neutral compassionate care to unique families e.g. surrogacy, substance use disorder, and LGBTQ issues. She is a staunch advocate for diversity and inclusion in healthcare.

Weber has demonstrated dedication to AWHONN such as serving as the Elected Idaho Section Chair, current AWHONN Legislative Representative and as a professional lecturer in a variety of topics at numerous AWHONN and educational events throughout the country.
