Critical Care Obstetrics Education (CCOE)
High-risk and critically ill pregnant women are encountered at every level of care and, AWHONN’s new Critical Care Obstetrics Education (CCOE) library will prepare nurses to identify high-risk and critically ill women who need treatment or stabilization, so transfer to a higher level of care can take place, if needed. New modules are coming soon to CCOE in 2020:

  • Hypertension
  • Thromboembolism
  • Heart Disease

Fetal Heart Monitoring Program
AWHONN’s Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) program is the recognized leader in fetal heart monitoring education. AWHONN offers in-person and online formats that are convenient, evidence-based and the essential tools for educating the entire team. The FHM program also trains participants to become AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring Instructors.

Maternal Fetal Triage Index (MFTI)
The Maternal Fetal Triage Index (MFTI) educational module educates perinatal nurses about obstetric triage basics—what triage means in obstetrics, what the nurses’ role is, and how a systematic approach can be beneficial to improve the process of triage and outcomes.

Obstetric Patient Safety Program
More than half of postpartum hemorrhage deaths are preventable.  AWHONN has developed the Obstetric Patient Safety (OPS) Program with the goal of reducing preventable hemorrhage-related complications and death. The OPS course is a live, instructor led event focused on general principles and best practices in risk assessment, quantification of blood loss, blood product administration, and event debriefing for obstetric hemorrhage. The course provides a blend of classroom instruction and hands on simulation training.

Postpartum Hemorrhage Education Course
Postpartum Hemorrhage (PPH) is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality and morbidity. This eight module online education course is currently in revision and will be available later in 2020.  The revision will include updated and evidence-based information about postpartum hemorrhage that will help you and your team improve recognition of, readiness for, response to, and reporting of this potentially life threatening complication.

Neonatal Orientation and Education Program (NOEP)
Education and consistent care are crucial to helping improve safety and outcomes on your level II or III NICU. The Neonatal Orientation and Education Program, Fourth Edition, (NOEP) addresses both factors and gives you a total solution to your staffing education and orientation needs.

Perinatal Orientation and Education Program (POEP)
The new Perinatal Orientation & Education Program, Fourth Edition (POEP), is highly effective in providing evidence-based, clinical education to perinatal nurses. POEP helps to mitigate patient risk, increase staff efficiency, and promote optimal obstetric outcomes while saving your healthcare system time and money. With POEP, your facility can establish consistent provision of high-quality care for mothers.

POST-BIRTH Education Program
The POST-BIRTH Education program includes online education on maternal morbidity and mortality and how to deliver consistent messages about warning signs that can signal serious complications. The online course educates postpartum nurses about the rising rates of maternal mortality and severe morbidity in the U.S., particularly in the postpartum period, and the role nurses can play in reversing this trend.
