Washington, DC — Florida AWHONN member Nancy J. Travis, MS, BSN, RN, BC, CPN, C-ONQS, FAWHONN has been named the Diaper Drive Coordinator for the Healthy Mom&Baby Diaper Drive, in partnership with and sponsored by Huggies® Healthcare™ and Huggies ® Brand diapers. Travis also serves as the AWHONN Florida Legislative Coordinator and the immediate past Florida section chair.
For more than 9 years, AWHONN members have collected and shared extra diapers with patients in need, expectant moms attending hospital classes, and others in their community to help ensure that all families have enough diapers to keep their youngest children clean, dry and healthy.
Annually, the diaper donations of AWHONN members get counted across the country. Since 2016, AWHONN members have collected and donated more than 4 million diapers to local banks in their communities in partnership with the National Diaper Bank Network. 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of the Healthy Mom&Baby Diaper Drive.
“Nurses are the healthcare providers patients confide their needs with, whether that’s for more support and education or extra diapers and wipes that will help them care for their newborn once home from the hospital,” says Nancy Travis. “Nurses are the most-trusted professionals and it’s an honor to have our patients confide in us with their needs.”
2025 year marks the 10th anniversary of the Healthy Mom&Baby Diaper Drive. AWHONN launched the drive at a time when 1 in 3 families needed additional diapering supplies, sadly, the need has only increased. Now, 1 in 2 American families—that’s half of all families—don’t have enough diapers to keep their youngest children clean, dry and healthy. Find a diaper bank near you here.
