Convention Program Committee

Committee’s Mission

The AWHONN Convention Program Committee (CPC) is responsible for developing the convention’s educational learning outcomes, identifying topics that will be of interest to participants, and selecting topics/presenters to offer high quality content.

Roles and Responsibilities

Before Convention

  • Participate in convention during the year preceding the convention for which you are serving as member
  • Participate in mandatory face-to-face initial committee meeting
    o Participate in committee meetings
    o Review participant feedback from previous convention
    o Develop convention learning outcome
    o Identify topics and presenters
    o Determine criteria for review of proposals
  •  Decide pre-convention session topics/presenters
    o Determine several general session topics/presenters
    o Finalize convention education session schedule
    o Extend invitations to presenters
    o Review and score podium proposals

During Convention

  • Participate in daily program committee meetings
  • Serve as liaisons for general session and preconvention presenters
  • Serve as session moderators/door host as needed
  • Consult with Chair and staff liaisons as needed for troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with Host Committee, as needed

Post-convention

  •  Provide feedback related to convention education programming
