The Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) has appointed LaShea Haynes, MEd, MSN, AGCNS-BC, APRN, RNC, C-EFM, as editor of Healthy Mom&Baby magazine. AWHONN has also appointed Paris Maloof-Bury CNM, RNC-OB, IBCLC, as associate editor of the magazine.

“I am pleased to welcome LaShea Haynes as the next editor of Healthy Mom&Baby magazine, and also welcome Paris Maloof-Bury, as the magazine’s newest associate editor. As recognized nursing leaders within AWHONN, their dedication to providing evidence-based information will go far in supporting members who share the magazine with women in hospitals throughout the country,” said Interim Chief Executive Officer Kathleen Hale, MS, RN, NE-BC.

Haynes has more than 24 years as an educator and clinical obstetric nurse and has previously served on the magazine’s Editorial Advisory Board. Her clinical and educational experience and expertise span labor/delivery, antepartum and mother/baby areas. Haynes is the founder of the nursing company, Perinatal Potpourri. She is an award-winning national and international speaker, a previous AWHONN section chair, and has served on several national AWHONN committees.

Midwife Maloof-Bury has been caring for women and families since 2005 and is currently president of the California Nurse-Midwives Association.  Maloof-Bury previously served on the magazine’s Editorial Advisory Board. Before becoming a nurse-midwife, she worked in Telemetry, L&D, high risk antepartum, as a lactation consultant in the NICU and outpatient settings, and as a nurse educator.
