Federal Government Recognizes the Important Role of Nurses
In honor
of National Nurses Week, nurses were recognized for their role in
improving health and strengthening the health care system by the Secretary
of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius; the Administrator of the
Health Resources and Services Administration, Mary Wakefield, PHD, RN;
Acting Administrator of the Centers for
Medicare
& Medicaid Services, Marilyn Tavenner, MHA, RN; and many other partners in the federal government. As part of this recognition, AWHONN's CEO, Karen Peddicord, PhD, RN and other professional nursing association leaders gathered to discuss the role of nurses in the Affordable Care Act. |
